I bought a male Kenyan Sand Boa, he's about 6 months old. This is my first experience owning one. He's about 8", in 20g high. Warm side is 85° ambient and 95° basking. Cool side varies around 75°. Night time temp stays in the 70s. I wanted to do a natural bioactive terrarium. I have led uv lights for the plants as well as a uvb bulb. Plants are a mixture of succulents. Substrate is a mixture of coconut fiber and sand. About 6" deep. I have isopods and springtails. Anyway my question is about feeding. After I got him, he burrowed right away. That night I seen him once poking his head out of the sand. A few days later, he poked his head out quickly. That was on Friday and I got him the prior Tuesday. I know they can go some time without feeding but I'm unsure what to do. I've read digging him out to attempt to feed will stress him. Do I have too much Substrate? Do I give him time to settle in? Should I leave a thawed pinkie on a paper towel in there overnight? There's plenty of foliage and leaf litter and moss so he may be out more and I'm not away TLDR; My 6 month old sand boa I got last week is mia, I know hes burrowed somewhere. He hasn't been poking his head out so how do I go about feeding him? Thanks guys
