Not sure if this has been discussed or not but where do you guys see desktop phone use being used in a business or professional setting?
Im an Electrician and as you can tell, not a good place for an office but I do see my formen (managers) doing some desktop things such as checking emails, reviewing blueprints, etc. Some even have tablets and laptops. I work for a bigger company so they have a badge scanner app on a company phone that we sign in and out of by scanning our badge.
So just from that alone I can see desktop phone use being used in construction in the future, getting some quick desktop stuff done without having to break out a full office. Maybe even down devices from maybe a tablet and a phone or just a phone service tablet.
Either way, I don't see it being used for office use because of the mobile platform, companies are have mini boxes that with very minimal computing abilities that fit their needs that are cloud based. Obviously remote workers may use it. With 5G Companies may not even pay for Internet anymore, they'll just pay the company phone bill and once you sign off you're out of internet.
