Hi everyone!
My name is Emma and I am looking for Australian participants for my Masters research project exploring the unique online experiences of young bisexual women.
ELIGIBILITY: Australian, cisgender female, 18-24 years of age, identifying as bi/poly-sexual.
TIME COMMITMENT: less than 2 hours, online
My project, which is part of my Master of Sexology at Curtin University, aims to explore the unique online experiences of young bisexual women, during their sexual identity development. Your participation would involve a virtual interview and some written reflections following the interview. In this interview we would discuss your experience of using the internet and online applications, particularly in relation to your sexuality.
There is scant research about the internet’s role in sexual identity development in women, especially that which focuses specifically on bisexual women. This is an opportunity to take part in research which addresses this knowledge gap.
It is anticipated that your participation will require less than two hours of your time and confidentiality is guaranteed.
While the diversity of the LGBTQIA community is something to celebrate, a homogenous sample of participants is important to this study – so unfortunately we cannot explore sexual identities other than those falling under the bi umbrella, or gender identities other than cisgender woman (cisgender meaning that your gender identity aligns with the sex you were assigned at birth).
If you are interested in finding out more, please DM me or contact me at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]).
Thanks for your time!
Curtin University Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) has approved this study (HRE2020-0588).
