I’ve lived in Iowa all of my life and as much as I love the open skies, scenic sunsets and friendly (for the most part) people I just need out of this place. It feels so small at times even though I live in an urban environment, like there’s literally nowhere you can run if that makes sense. It can feel very us and them at times and I think the fact that there’s not so much going on here breeds that kind of mindset. People for the most part great but I want to go somewhere where nobody knows my name or anyone that I know too. I don’t have a great way of describing how I feel about this place besides what I’ve said but to former Midwesterner’s that felt a desperate need to see what’s beyond the corn fields, where did you go? How was your life before and after you left? Thank you for reading through this and any advice would greatly be appreciated!
