Any advice for a van lifer?
Post Body

Greetings Salem! My partner and I have been van lifing for the year. We spent a couple days in Salem in August and loved it, and decided to come back for Halloween!

We are arriving tonight and are planning to enjoy the festivities tomorrow and have tickets to a fun event at night.

Wondering if any locals might have tips on where would be a good place for us to park the van for the day and sleep in the same spot in the van over night? We'd like something less than 2 miles from downtown so we are walking distance. I understand it will be insanely crowded and this may be a difficult task, but wanted to reach out to the subreddit to see if we could get some advice.

Much appreciated and thanks for hosting for the festivities.

Currently we are thinking to stay in the Target parking lot, and there is a shuttle that seems to run close by to downtown.

And we do want to try and avoid any insanely expensive Uber rides.

Update: Snagged the last spot at Winter Island Campground. Thinking it will be a good spot for us. Notsuoer close, but definitely walkable. Now to hope for good weather..!
