Living in Florida is okay, I guess. Recently it’s becoming overcrowded, very one-sided politically unless you’re in a city, and I do NOT want my future children to be in a public school in FL. Also, my partner is in nursing school and the pay in a big northeastern city is much more than starting pay here. I’m from South Jersey originally, and I miss my Phillies/Eagles, I miss seasons, I miss public transportation, I miss the general population having a little more culture. I will miss the no state income tax of FL. I’m asking Philadelphia residents to please provide what they are taxed on the wage. I get paid by the hour and my paychecks (every 2 weeks) vary greatly but I’ll provide the example for this one:
Gross: $4,358.19 Taxes: $880.62 (Federal: $555.13, Social Security $263.79, Medicare: $61.70) Benefits: $103.51 Retirement: $305.07 Take Home: $3,068.99.
Taxed: 20.2%
The benefits and retirement isn’t necessary to include but i’d like to see the gross, the total taxes, and a breakdown of the taxes.
Thanks a lot!!
Shouldn’t be too much different though, it’s based on the percentage, then your specific break down.
Here’s a base breakdown of yours. No AI really needed.
Tax Marginal Tax Rate Effective Tax Rate 2024 Taxes* Federal 22.00% 14.20% $14,852 FICA 7.65% 7.65% $8,002 State 3.07% 3.07% $3,211 Local 3.75% 3.75% $3,922 Total Income Taxes 28.67% $29,987 Income After Taxes $74,609 Retirement Contributions $0 Take-Home Pay $74,609
It’d probably be much easier to just plug this into an Income tax calculator ? Lol
