Negotiating salary above stated range – should I mention a competing offer?
Post Body

I’m currently interviewing for a Senior Product Marketing Manager role at a large company (~10k employees), and the salary range listed in the job description tops out at $135K. I’ve just received another offer for $150K from a different company but I'm more interested in the $135k company and team.

Has anyone had success negotiating a salary above the stated range in a similar situation? Should I leverage the competing offer or is that a mistake? Would they want to see the offer?

Any advice or tips on how to position this without coming across as pushy would be appreciated!

UPDATE: All the recruiter did was ask me where I was with the other interviews I had and I said I had another offer for 150k. She said she'd check to see if they could extend the range and they were able to - no verification needed!

Thanks for all of your help!
