Sacramento Homeowners - who do you use for homeowners insurance?
Post Body

I recently received a letter from my insurance carrier (GUARD by Berkshire Hathaway) that they will no longer be renewing policies in CA. Come to find out most other carriers have pulled out of the state as well. I spoke to Murcury, but they wanted proof that my plumbing and electrical had been updated in the last 25 years. Turns out no permits have been pulled on my house in 25 years (I just purchased last year from a flipper) and so I have no proof of these upgrades.

Anyone find themselves in a similar boat? Would love any advice or guidance my neighbors can provide.

Update: Gave GEICO a call and they were able to cover us without any hassle. Thank you all!
