This is my second year at SXSW with a gold badge (interactive and film) but I did a mediocre job of taking full advantage last year.
A few quick questions for those who have mastered the art of multitasking and have solid compilations of movies I should try and see by festivals end.
I'll spend the next few days at interactive panels and want to try and make the most of my evenings. If you're in the same boat, what films will you be working in evenings?
Once interactive wraps up I'll have several days of uninterrupted moviegoing. What films are you most excited to see? Based on your knowledge, what films will most likely be overlooked but absolutely deserve consideration (in your opinion)? What makes you think that?
What's your best advice for getting to the venue's which are awfully spread out if you're traveling by bike. Last year I adopted a strategy of arriving at one venue and staying for the night (Alamo South Lamar). I saw some great found I wouldn't have otherwise scene which was great. Do you have a different strategy? If so, would you care to share?
What film panels or presentations are you hoping to make at the Civic Center during the day?
To those who respond, my sincere thanks for the kindness and helpfulness of your replies. Happy festival to you all!
As a local Austinite, my one offering is to recommend the Leprechaun screening hosted by Master Pancake Theater, a local comedy troupe still channeling the comedic spirit of Joel and his bots weekends at the Alamo.
