Personal Beach Chair protocol?

We are planning a trip to SXM, 1st since Covid. This time, getting a private villa with beach gear. We know many resorts/vendors have elaborate chair/umbrella set ups that are €20 . But we will have our own beach chairs. Is the vendor turf exclusive of private gear? Or can you set up between chair line and surf? Or, will that mean lots of hasseling?
