Starting an imperial army

Hi there
Sorry if this is the wrong tag, I wasn't sure.
I've been wanting to start an imperial army recently. I currently own a small CIS army but want to expand. However I have just seen the announced updates with the changing cards and the news about resculpts for the first legion units. I was looking to get the galactic starter box but not sure if that's smart to do right now. Any advice or insight would be greatfully received.
