With the failure of Mirza’s policies to elicit any kind of popular support in a significant way, he has decided for the good of the nation, to resign. The government has thus dissolved and the leaders of the revolution shall go to the Majlis to elect a new Premier to oversee the drafting of a new constitution and creation of a new Republic.

The new government presented to the Majlis is a coalition government of key constitutionalist figures who are secular, nationalist and most importantly from both the left and right of the constitutionalist movement. Moreover, the coalition government represents 2/3rds of the legislature in its party makeup, a true consensus government.
