October 2nd, 1919
After much deliberation and bickering among the Polish leadership and their American counterparts, it was decided that the New World was a ripe ground for volunteers for the War in Poland. A call went out to the myriad Polish-American communities across the Northeast and Midwest.
"Friends! Brothers! Countrymen! Volunteer to fight the Red Menace and Secure our Polish State! Will you stand by and let the Bolshevik consume our land we have only so recently gained? Will you see the Polish state fall once again to outside forces? Surely not! Volunteer for the Polish front today!"
Incentives were meek and few, and mostly consisted of patriotism and hope. The time had finally come for Poland to gain her independence, and the millions of Poles living in the United States watched with bated breath as Poland fought for her very life.
Would the Poles in America join in the fight? Or turn their backs on their brothers in their homeland?
