Hello thought I’d try to make me journey easier by finding ways to share my experiences but also seeking help through common experiences. My anxiety has become worse beginning of this year after the pandemic, dealing with a car accident that my parent was in, moving to a new home, dealing with emotions from being on daca and feeling like less of a person because of my status and being admitted to a mental hospital accidentally because of miscommunication and language barriers of the school thinking I was going to harm myself. I decided to give meds a try because of how the the anxiety was increasing and my intrusive thoughts were becoming more scary. The content of them are definitely what you can assume they are, I’ve never had a problem with them as I know I’ll never do any of those thoughts but all the factors I’ve listed above can definitely be a reason.
I’ve been taking Zoloft (idk how to spell the generic name lol) for about a few weeks, then I went up to 50mg. The interesting thing about it was that I have had a good few mental days after getting over the side effects and then after a few days I completely went downhill and my mood was really low and depressed. I talked to my doctor about dosage and decided to go up to 75mg, it’s been 3-4 days since I’ve started 75, and I feel quite the same but not super depressed because I have my coping skills but it’s definitely difficult. I am going to go up a dose to 100mg in about a week or two and hopefully by then my doctor and I can see if Zoloft is even good enough for me. Anyone feel the same? I’m 200pounds and I take the medication with water and make sure to not have anything that can increase side effects. I’m curious if the good days and then the low depressed days are a sign I should go up or find a new medication. I heard good things about SNRI’s and combining Wellbutrin with my Zoloft.
Thanks for taking the time to read!
