What to do when SSRI's just aren't helping enough? (PD)
Post Body

Hi, I've been diagnosed with Panic Disorder 7 years ago. It's been a battle ever since. I've been on multiple SSRI's (Paroxetine, Escitalopram, Fluoxetine) and one SNRI (Venlafaxine). I'm currently taking Escitalopram again on a 15mg dose. But I recently had a complete relapse and I'm not sure if simply taking a SSRI is doing the trick for me. So i'm looking for suggestions I could discuss with my psychiatrist.

Augmentation therapy by adding a different drug to the Escitalopram seems beneficial, but what drug? Would switching to a TCA be a wise choice? Or maybe even a MAO-I? Some reports showed promising results by using Atypical Antipsychotics. If you have panic disorder or GAD, what was an effective treatment for you?
