I have PMDD, generalized anxiety, and recently diagnosed with OCD. The OCD started getting really bad in January and I decided that meds might be the next best step to help while I initiate ERP. I was prescribed Zoloft 25 mg and took for three days in the morning. Last night, after the third dose, I started having symptoms that almost took me to the ED… they lasted an hour and it was very scary - increased heart rate, shaking/shivering, cold chills, sweating, strange hot/cold sensations over the top part of my body that almost felt like numbness, and blurred vision at one point. Also, I woke up to these symptoms an hour into sleep, I had gone to bed feeling a little off, and especially that my heart rate was increased but I didn’t feel particularly stressed or anxious at that time. It seemed to happen very spontaneously. I called my doctor first thing in the morning and have not heard back from her yet (it has been 7 hrs)….. and I decided not to take my dose today and feel less subdued/drowsy than I did yesterday so I know it was having some impact already. Has anyone dealt with this?? I also read that Zoloft can increase panic attacks initially, but I’ve never had one like that.
