Been taking Paxil for 4-5 years, unsure if it's helping anymore
Post Body

I'm a 32 year old man and I take 40mg Paxil for GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder). I've changed a lot over these 4-5 years, peaking in 2020-2021 when my relationship was going so well, and falling flat this year after we broke up, 2 family members died and a lot of stuff has happened.

I think I'm a much stronger person overall now, and while I'm not necessarily considering quitting/changing etc, I had the thought of whether or not I might be better off without SSRIs one day. My day cycle consists of alternating between vices (coffee, weed edibles, naps) until anxiety peaks up again. I do have plenty of more.. healthier coping mechanisms and habits - like cooking, working out and such. But I feel that's neither here nor there, I just wanted to give some context. I'm curious if anyone here has taken Paxil and experienced this kind of doubt of whether it still works after some time.

I feel like theres more I could / want to say, but thanks to constant brain fog it's not coming out right now. Hopefully some discussion will get it out.
