Is it worth investing in a higher Hz monitor for Netplay?

I'm a retired professional gamer needing to scratch that competitive itch so I've been starting to grind melee this summer and I want to take it fairly seriously. My monitor right now caps out at 77hz(ish) refresh rate and I have heard that 140 helps for Netplay.

I'm willing to spend a few 100 but not much more if it really does matter that much. I don't want to build bad timing habits because Netplay is slightly off.

Anyone have any insight/data into how much this affects things?
