This got about an equal number of up- and downvotes in /r/Game0fDolls. Curious to see the reaction it gets here.
So, I'm a self-identifying feminist and here are some of the assumptions people make about me that aren't true:
- I'm not a postmodernist
- I don't subscribe to patriarchy theory
- I'm sex positive
- I don't think sexual objectification is always negative
- I don't hate men (love them, in fact)
- I shave, am generally feminine and girly and I am usually considered attractive
EDIT: Well, looks like about the same even split as G0D. But, waaayyyy more comments. However, I'd have to say I got far fewer pic requests in G0D. :) Sooo.... I'm calling it a push. Thanks to those who engaged in good faith - many interesting conversations.
So what keeps your vision of feminism from being redundant? What is it about feminism that makes you identify with it in addition to some general ethical viewpoint.

That begs the question doesn't it?
You could probably call me a feminist if the definition was the dictionary one about equality of the sexes but that could be covered by any number of ethical schools of thought so—why bother?
