So, I have been cat- and house- sitting for my mum the past few days. This means that I can watch tv! There is a show I really like, called Til Debt Do Us Part. The host is a financial planner and sets young couples back on track to get out of debt, often saving their relationships in the process.
There was just an episode of "Matt" and "Evan" - two men who met and were married four weeks later. They were very young, naive, and sweet, just like every episode.
One of the challenges (hey, it is reality-tv) was that they needed to earn some extra income for saving purposes to get a place. So they have a trial day in a pizza place. One of them is miserable at pizza-cutting (he doesn't get the job). His comment? "I can't do anything straight!" and that was the only joke about it. Here, on national television, a marriage of young men is totally accepted and treated with the same normal professionalism as every other couple gets. Sweet, huh?
It'll happen. I'm sure of it :)
