Show up to support more housing near downtown SLO! Developers have submitted a proposal to build ten units of housing where there is currently only single-family housing on 460 Pacific, right behind Emerson Park. (2 studios, 6 1-bed, 2 2-beds)
This is exactly the kind of "missing middle" denser housing that we need now in downtown. Denser housing near downtown means more walkability and less traffic since more people won't need a car to get around, and increases our housing supply.
The developers are requesting a 100% parking exemption where they would usually have to build 11 spaces. Considering the parcel of land itself is only 3,800 square feet, the fact that it's so close to downtown, and that fact that there's already a parking lot in the back for the adjacent stores, this is completely reasonable.
See the renderings and site plans yourself from the developer, and the staff report from city staff.
