Looking for a long-term relationship on SFR4R kind of feels like looking for a critically acclaimed art film at an adult movie store...but I figure, what the hell?

I'll start by saying that I throw no shade at random hookup posts, and have enjoyed my share of wanton fun between the sheets in the past. I've also had some great primarily sexual ongoing relationships, and I do consider myself a thoroughly sensual person who expresses himself deeply through physical touch. But it feels like I've reached a point where I can no longer start relationships with sex, and I am looking for another person who wants to get to know one another, and really *feel* one another, before we start *feeling on* one another.

My identities occupy multiple gray areas: I am a white-passing mixed race person, a straight-passing queer (bi) person, and someone who grew up with both financial comfort and financial hardship at different points in my life. I spent many years trying to figure out where I fit in, and who my people are, and I'm grateful to say that--in my third decade of life--most of this has become clear. I am spiritual (grew up with Buddhism and Judaism) and carnal; easygoing and intense; calm and passionate; cerebral and sophomoric. We all contain multitudes; I suppose I would just say that occupying "in-between" spaces just feels very central to who I am.

Here are some more practical details: I'm 5'7", 145 lbs, muscular, black-haired, brown-eyed and fair-skinned. I have five tattoos, groomed stubble, a nice square jaw line, and a face that I will show you after we start talking. I work in community health (psychiatry) as well as end-of-life care. I love to run, garden, surf, sit by creeks, read, watch weird movies, hang out with animals, and cook (pizza and Thai food, especially). Smoking weed on Fridays and Saturdays is my biweekly treat. Hallucinogens are cool too, although I do them infrequently. I lift weights, but I have never used the word "gains" non-ironically. I'm looking for a committed relationship, and I'd like to at least start off with a monogamous arrangement. Perhaps, if our relationship endures, we can explore exploring other people (doing that together is my preference), but that seems like more of an fun accoutrement to the two-person relationship I'm looking for, rather than a precondition of having a future together. I lean towards wanting kids one day. I definitely want pets.
