Alright. I've been lurking both this sub as well as the related Discord for a good while now - it's about time I did something.
I'm now in my third year of being in the Bay Area (raised in Upstate New York if you're curious) and I've fallen into a bit of a rut... and not the fun kind. My schedule is a repeating loop of work, play games at home, and sleep - I haven't met anybody new outside of professional relationships or being a regular at a few eating establishments around work. I have one good friend I talk with frequently (he happened to get me a job in the Emeryville area), and I mean no offense to him (not that he's on here) but I'd like to start chumming it up with someone new.
Frankly, I feel myself caught in a bit of a self-perpetuating loop: nobody to hang out with, therefore no desire to leave the home, therefore not meeting anybody new, therefore nobody to hang out with, etcetera. I'm sure a good part of it isn't helped by the fact I'm in Hayward, which (if examination of the location of The Friend Zone's members is anything to go by) is a bit of a dead zone. My desire to leave the home is so hampered that going for two months between grocery runs is not unheard of for me. I'd love to see Detective Pikachu, but I have no desire to make the ~15 minute drive or sit by myself in the theater. I put off getting new bedsheets for my bed for several days despite a gaping hole.
Things have been... rather tough, as members of TFZ might attest to. I won't go into them here - it's better reshared to a therapist.
So, after all that context, I'd want to ask if there were any places around here (Hayward) I could visit and just hang around, hopefully to find someone new to chat with. I'd rather not go too far for... reasons.

PS to NNH: yeah, those clothes are still sitting in a pile, unused since the day they were purchased.
