I know most success stories on this sub are usually about sex and hookups, but I figured I’d share one about just having a good time. I’m writing this, still recovering from last night, so hopefully it’s coherent and I’m not too fried.

I had posted about trying to find someone or group to go with to Illenium. I surprisingly had a few responses, but they mostly fizzled out. The show was Saturday night and it was already Saturday morning and I didn’t have any plans on going anymore. Then I got a very enthusiastic DM from a female redditor asking if I was still going. We chatted a bit and had a bunch in common, so we passed the vibe check. We talked mainly about music and raves. She’s in her 20s so we traded festival stories about how the scene has evolved etc. She said her friend couldn’t make it anymore and had an extra ticket if I wanted it. I said sure and asked how much she was selling for. She said it was free, which at first made me kinda paranoid. It sounded too good to be true and was worried I was gonna get scammed or robbed or something. I worked past my paranoia and we traded pics and verified and agreed we could meet at the venue. We both found each other somewhat cute, so that helped to kinda ease my apprehension.

That night, we decided to meet at the parking garage. We were going to pregame in the car before heading in (something I haven’t done in probably almost a decade lol) Then we e’d go in and meet some of her friends inside. I got there and sat and waited in my car until I got a DM saying she was there. I was relieved to find that she was real and in fact not going to rob me lol I brought some tequila to pregame and we honestly just vibed and talked a bit before going in. The rest of the night is sort of a blur, but I had the time of my life. I just remember feeling the energy of the crowd, a lot of dancing and belting lyrics at the tops of our lungs. I also remember a light show, cuddle puddle and a fun little make out. Either way, I had so much fun and felt like I was re-experiencing my first rave again. I don’t want to dox her, but if she’s reading this: Thanks for being such a cool and awesome person, along with your friends! I hope you had as much fun as I did.

On that note, I sort of have the itch to go again next week… she already said she can’t go, but if there’s anyone looking to go, DM me.
