Hello Oakland!
Short version: I need an accountability buddy to make sure I leave the house tomorrow, or there's a real chance my friend is going to find my mummified corpse under a pile of engineering books when she gets home next week. The Lake Merrit Farmers Market looks like cheap, low-stakes fun and the weather should be nice. Say meet at 10am, walk around, eat some pastries, and play birdwatching bingo?
Long version: I'm visiting with/housesitting for an old friend this month while I prep for a professional exam at the end of May. It's been hard to justify leaving the house because I should be studying 24/7 and the Anxiety Guilt is real...but realistically fresh air, vitamin D, human interaction, actual food, and a little exercise helps me focus on the (eye-bleedingly boring) material.
Oakland is a longer pit stop on a big roadtrip. I quit my job last year to travel and try to break into a super niche building industry (which I'll happily geek out about given an opening 😁). Since then I've crossed the country twice, living out of my trusty car. I've met amazing people, reconnected with family, basked in beautiful places, been tossed out of a couple national parks, marveled over the things people build, learned new skills, and generally had a fucking blast. There's a good chance I'll move to Oakland in the fall if a certain job works out but come June, I'll be back on the open road.
I'm 36F, white, short, curvy/fluffy, no kids/pets, introverted, friendly, no drugs, no bullshit. My profile will give you a pretty good sense of who I am. Looking for someone close-ish to my age, with good hygiene, who is adept at holding a balanced, interested conversation. Extra points for natural building designers/builders. No points for NSFW pics. Your photo gets mine. I appreciate reading comprehension, so please tell me in your reply what song you play when you need to get through the shit.
