For 1.2 Mil , in what SAFE neighborhoods can one buy a 3 bed 2+ bath single family home with a backyard ?

We live in an apartment. Increasingly we feel the need for some backyard space.
I know I can use Zillow filters, but don’t know enough of neighborhoods that are safe or not. When I say safe I mean that my East Asian immigrant parents should be able to walk without me getting heart palpitations . :-)
