Hi! I'm actually a content writer, not an SEO professional. I'm working for a client who does SEO and online marketing for East Coast plumbing and HVAC companies. Recently, he's had me post links to my blog posts on social bookmarking sites. I do realize that this method is largely regarded as outdated, but we have had some success so far.
I've been asked to find another social bookmarking site, after recommending several I'd used at a previous job. I can't seem to find much that we haven't already tried.
Sites We're Currently Using
Delicious
Scoop.it
Plurk
Diigo
Sites That We Can't Use
StumbleUpon (duplicate content)
PearlTrees (duplicate content)
I do realize that social bookmarking peaked around five years ago, but has largely withered away. It seems that users have largely migrated toward social networking sites like Twitter, as well as aggregators like Voat and Reddit, to fill a similar purpose. Combined with Google algorithm change that have reputedly made social bookmarking less effective for link building, it seems like social bookmarking is basically dead.
As such, there seem to be few social bookmarking sites that are still up and running. Some that I've used in the past, like Blinklist, have basically rebranded and are no longer suitable for our purposes. Others seem to have disappeared entirely.
Does anyone know of any social bookmarking sites that I haven't already listed, that don't create duplicate content?
