Considering Disavowing. Talk me out of it.
Post Body

Context: Site is about 10 years old, approx 3,000 keywords in the Top 100. DA 45. Majestic Trust 16, Citation 47.

I did a lot of guest posting and link building from 2015-2018, but haven’t done much since then. Still publish about 15 blog posts per month consistently.

I noticed on SEMRush I have a disproportionately high amount of toxic backlinks, like 25-30% and my Majestic trust has been eroding over the years, it used to be in the high 20s.

I looked into my link profile and there is so much garbage, should I be concerned?

I used to dominate for high value keywords,I still get good traffic but it’s mostly long tail these days.

My understanding was disavowing was a no-no unless you’re under a manual action or actually did really spammy link building tactics. But being completely honest I haven’t been paying attention to SEO for the past few years so I’m out of the loop on the current sentiment.

Where should I go from here?
