Probably most know about this if not then it's a good way to level up survival skill.

Saftey pin boxews are really easy to find but I found out that each time you take a pin out of the box it levels up your survival by 150 ish. then you craft that pin into a lockpick which levels up another 150 ish then when you have 10 improved lockpicks, you create a bundle of lockpicks and it incrases your survival again!

Also works with removing nails and bolts from boxes but you cannot craft anything simply out of a nail or bolt.

It takes some time but I usually watch a video whilst doing this and I incrased my survival from 25% from medium to advanced in a relatively short time.

Saves having to use axes to cut large sticks into small sticks and cutting trees down.

Also for engineering building tables after medium survial. Medium survival gives you 4 planks per locg and a table requires 4 planks and a sharp object. No bolts or nails! Only problem is that you need to be next to a flag.
