Help! Shirt gluing to platen!

New to printing. When I am finished printing a shirt it is nearly impossible to pull off the platen without stretching out the design. Furthermore, if I don't apply enough adhesive spray the shirt sticks to my scree. off-contact is at 1/8 of an inch.
