Recently trying to set back up a remote DP that was removed in the past due to reasons unrelated to the functionality of SCCM.

Walked through the Create Site System Server wizard and selected the Distribution Point service to install with IIS, PXE and Multicast all selected.

Almost 24 hours later and Monitoring > Overview > Distribution Status > Distributon Point Configuration Status still shows the Distribution Point with errors stating "Failed to install distribution point".

Checked distmgr.log and found the following lines.

I have:

*Copied the mof file from the Site Server to the DP and ran mofcomp.exe smsdpprov.mof

*Verified there is no internal firewall blocking connects between the Site Server and the DP

*Verified communication between the two servers via command prompt and wbemtest.exe

*Checked and confirmed Windows Authentication in IIS and IIS 6 WMI Compatability are installed on the DP.

*Uninstalled the Distribution Point Service from the DP and attempting to Add the service back again.

*Running wmimgmt.msc I am able to connect to \lchs-fileserver with no errors

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
