Help finding a pocketable 4:3 device with an ABXY button layout

Since the days of Dreamcast and OG Xbox, I always preferred this button layout over the Nintendo standard and my current Android devices are both set up with "Confirm" as the bottom (A) button action and "Back" as the right (B) button action.

In my quest for something 4:3 and pocketable, I've considered many devices, often coming back to RG35XX-H, Miyoo Mini Plus and similar, but the vast majority of devices around this power level mimics Nintendo's default layout.

Other than my SF2000, I have no experience with non-Android devices and don't even know if all those firmware options support switching the two button actions and corresponding UI icons.

I know how to handle the software aspect on Android, which is why I started considering a 405M, but at this price level I'd probably forego the pocketability and go for a 556 instead — That said, I'm a little intimidated by the number of steps (and screws) in dismantling those devices required to swap the buttons.

So is there a device capable of PS1/N64 emulation around that features an ABXY layout rather than BAYX?

Or are they all easily swappable, both hard- and software wise and I shouldn't be making such a big deal out of it?

And somewhat related question to PS1/N64 gamers — how feasible is it to play your favorite games without an analog stick? (I haven't yet made the call whether an analog stick is necessary for my needs)
