I know this has probably been covered here before, but I would like to hear the SASS viewpoint on the notion that someone could use "witchcraft" to negatively impact the lives of others.
There is a family friend whose ex-partner became a criminally abusive person. And this friend frequently had "bad luck episodes" during their relationship, in which things would go wrong for no apparent reason (including accidents with no apparent cause).
Religious people thus claimed that the ex-partner was possessed by a demon and doing "black magic" (lol, I know, I know). However, I question the notion that one individual can bestow good or bad luck on others (as I have also observed this belief in the witchcraft community).
I tend to explain things through a psychological lens. But there are things that can't be fully explained.
What do you guys think?
And if anyone has any resources about this topic it will be welcome
What does this have to do with the evil eye? Evil eye of envy is not the same as black magic and curses.
