We all have some. Let's here them. I'll go first. I'm on the project from hell. We are the SI. The SOW stated the job was a lift and shift into a live production system, and that the existing systems business processes win. We staffed budgeted and planned the project accordingly. Not even a week into the project they decide that approach won't work and start a, rationalizing thier org structure, and b, tell us that they need to include all of their customizations to co mingle with the target system. We went through an extensive data mapping session with them, and during our test loads we learned 60% of what they told us was pulled out of thier thin air, and was completely wrong. So most of our master data failed to load at first. Thier decision making process was completely fucked. Thier version of a decision tracker was an excel spreadsheet that anyone could edit. All of the "decisions" that were "complete" had gaps from a technical perspective, or we're just wrong, or we're someone's opinion that wasn't based on reality.

Our functional team took the cake. Thier transports corrupted the q system. MM was a mess. When we went to load materials we learned none of the config was done except for plant setup, of which only half we're done.

And to make matters worse our clients CIO insisted on an accelerated timeline of 3 months, forcing us to adopt a different approach for project delivery that ultimately cost us more time. We're 6 months into the project and thier "cutover" will last a month with thier legacy system decommissioned a week into cutover. Meaning the business will be functionally off line for the first month of the year while we migrate them to the target system.
