So small review of the PinButton case from Pitaka.
(Full disclosure,I won this during the giveaway they had a few weeks ago, and nope they didn't ask me to post a review)
Design:
Classic Pitaka, to me it's very well designed, without anything looking to gaudy. A real stealth case with tasteful branding done.
Fit and Finish:
Really good, the case seems to fit symmetrically all around. I tried an OtterBox commuter case before this and the one annoying thing was that the bottom of the case was saggy, no problem here tho.
As for feel in hand, it's soft, it's light...the afraid pattern in the back is quite bumpy compared to their normal MagEZ cases. Not that I find it to be a con, it actually provides a bit more grip.
Inside the case is lined with Nappa leather, but it seems to be a really thin layer. Still feel I would have preferred a microfiber lining Instead. The cutouts around the phone are accurate, don't see any QA issue.
Buttons:
Seem metallic and are quite tactile, so they feel great, though pin buttons do seem to elevate a bit away from the case when being pressed down on its extreme ends (I'm talking barely millimeters, but just enough to see light pass through)
PinButton Functionality:
So the cool stuff, this is deffo the most functional addition I've seen added to any case. Set up was relatively easy after following their YouTube video on setting up routines to trigger on NFC tags. Currently set up mine for Spotify, Open Camera, and one button to toggle Silent mode (ex iphone user / oneplus owner and I really loved the sound mode switch/slider.)
But note one thing, these tags cannot be activated while the phone is locked!
MagSafe: Magnets are strong, doesn't affect the S pen usage from my time with it. Mounted it on my car with a really stuff suspension and never got loose during real bumpy / spirited driving. Don't expect an original Apple magsafe wallet to attach flush tho.
Durability:
I've dropped this phone accidentally from around 3-4 feet onto ceramic tiles like 4 times. No sign of scuffing or warping of the case, and no damage to my phone or screen. Even after 3 weeks of use and at times being in the same bag as some keys, no visible scratches on the case surface.
Bottom line: This has already become my favorite case for my S24, it's easy/comfy to handle...with a soft texture which doesn't poke your hands or fingers while using. This along with the edition of MagSafe (got a magsafe mount in my car), and PinButtons...makes it a super useful case for me.
TL;DR: Great case, fits well, adds new fucntionality, well built and looks great. If you prioritize mag safe compatibility, and great in hand feel without anything looking gaudy, I would highly recommend this case.
