Tortoise vomiting post hibernation Help!!
Post Body

My tortoise is almost 9 years old. She hibernates in the winters for usually 1-3 months depending on temps, weights and scheduling.

I took her fridge temps yesterday and they were at 49 F which is much higher than I’d like. Her fridge has struggled to maintain a temp between 35-45 ish this whole time. She has not lost 10% of body weight in the last 2 months but she’s close to it. This morning I took her out to weigh her and she was clearly awake so I turned on her lights and woke her up.

She normally eats within 20 min of waking. Instead she sat like a lump for over an hour… and then she vomited clear liquid (looked like water) all over herself.

I gave her a luke warm bath and observed her drinking and stretching. She was curious and observing her surroundings.

Now back in her terrarium she is again just laying under the basking light unmoving.

—info— I’m pregnant and have Covid. We don’t have a reptile vet in this area- closest is over 4 hr drive away. Vet is a great suggestion, it’s not going to happen though.

—question: has anyone ever heard of or seen this before? Any suggestions or ideas? I’m going to give her a pumpkin bath in a bit but I’m trying to leave her be to warm up and regulate. She’s been awake now for 5 hours.
