The job seemed simple enough; quite the lovely little lure to get you in over your head and underpaid for your hard work. Meet some smugglers, pick up your escort, and keep them safe for a while until they can make contact with their people here in the Emerald City. That’s what the lanky Amerindian kid with the shifty eyes told you. Toby, you recall his name being when you pressed him hard enough; kid was probably a first time J. The pay was good enough; 12k a head. It’s why you and the team are out here in southeast Snohomish waiting for the plane to get in and send you the code that they were going to land soon.

You may have been expecting something to go wrong. This seemed too easy. Something was supposed to go wrong.

The explosion overhead was probably not what you had in mind.

Darting your eyes around to see where it came from, you hear another violent explosion and the slow rumbling of falling debris as the airplane you suspect your target to be on falls from the heavens...and crash right in the hell that is the Redmond Barrens.
