Hello allβπ½,
I wanted to take a moment to share my recent experience with Rue Porter. I started a fitness apparel clothing line called SherAthletics (SHERA) and was looking for wholesalers for the basics ( Hoodies & Tees).
I placed an order for blanks from Rue Porter on 05/26/2023, and being from Toronto, ON, Canada I was quite excited about it. However, after reading up on this thread, I started panicking, thinking that my money was gone and that I'd have to charge back with my credit card company.
Their website quotes a shipping time of 1-3 business days, but when my order hadn't shipped by the 4th business day (06/01/2023), I contacted them for a quick update. Normally, I wouldn't be so impatient, but given the circumstances, it seemed valid. This past Monday, I received a response saying my order would be shipped out in 1-2 business days.
Fast forward to yesterday, I received an email notification that I was refunded 39.95USD for the navy hoodie (which I was most looking forward to sampling). Oddly enough, I checked their wholesale website this morning and the size (L) I ordered is in stock β 65 pieces to be exact. While I should be grateful for the refund and actually receiving my order (unlike the horror stories I've read here and in other clothing brand startup groups), the whole situation is pretty bizarre.
It's insane how excited I am just because I have something to show for the money I spent, which speaks volumes about Rue Porter. The bar is set incredibly low. To top it off, they never emailed me to inform that they'd be canceling the blue hoodie and refunding me for whatever apparent reason.
I received my order (also got charged $40 in duties) this morning & wanted to update everyone on the current state of Rue Porter's operations. Personally, I will most likely not be using them as my wholesaler since I still don't trust them, and it's clear they have quality control and accountability issues.
Stay safe out there, and best of luck with your own ventures!
