Are you charged Accommodation cost whilst on deployment?

For example I've had a read of previous posts and understand that if your boat is alongside you'll stay on base on the other hand if your on a ship then your accommodation is on there.
When your deployed on a boat do you pay accommodation costs. I understand MLA ( housing costs) you pay whilst deployed as your partner and possible kids will be living there but with SLA ( housing costs) do you pay this only if your alongside or throughout deployment?
