House sitting over Boarding?
Post Body

I’ve been in this subreddit for a while and have learned so much from everyone here. I have noticed though that a majority of the posts refer to house sitting requests. I think one time I read that people do prefer house sitting. In my opinion, I prefer the comfort of my own home. I feel very icky about being in a stranger’s space, especially after hearing some of the horror stories in this subreddit.

But I’m genuinely curious if people prefer house sitting for any specific reasons. I know everyone’s needs and preference is different but maybe I am missing something about house sitting that’s better than boarding? Anyway, just wondering if there is a general consensus around boarding that people just don’t like it.

Comments

I prefer to housesit. The pets are happier in their own home. I have cats, they are happier without dogs in their home. I have boarded, but it's such a pain. I sit enough that I have my kit always packed and ready to go to keep me comfortable for several days. My service area is small enough that I can easily go home every day if needed, although my teenage son is home with the cats anyway.
