Preparing for Rover House Sitter (10 day stay)
Post Body

I am going out of the country for 10 days and my 2 dogs and 1 cat will be staying at my house with a housesitter from Rover. This is the first time I have ever left them with people that weren't friends or family. The stay totals approximately $1,000. I was wondering what are common items the owners will leave for house sitters that you appreciate? I will communicate to them to help themselves to all food and drinks. Should I leave a gas card or cash? Deliberately stock random snacks and drinks? Should I ask them for food preferences? What are things you "expect" when showing up for a house sitting gig?

Comments

I have a list of questions for those new to having a house/pet sitter, dm me if you'd like it, to see what info is good to have.

I always feel special if someone asks what snacks I like.

If you leave me a clean set of sheets I'll change the bed before I go!
