New Sitter Questions
Post Body
I recently joined Rover and already have multiple boarding requests for the next several weeks. Since we're still very new at this, I have a few questions on best practices as a sitter.
- We set our rates lower than average in our area to gain new clients. I was intending to do so after three or four bookings, but we already have five scheduled. If I raise my rates now, will it impact the people who have already booked? Or the requests that are pending but haven't been accepted yet?
- We have had people make booking requests for several weeks from now, including two at the end of August. When do I schedule a Meet and Greet? If I do it too early, is it worth our time or will the pet forget us?
- I've read to not accept the booking until after the Meet and Greet, to make sure everything goes smoothly. Do you think that's a good idea in reality? As I said above, I have two requests for the last week of August that are pending, neither have responded about scheduling a Meet and Greet. It seems odd to do a Meet and Greet this week for a boarding a month from now, but how long can I reasonably sit on a pending booking while I wait to meet the animal?
Thanks, and apologies if these are all covered somewhere else, just trying to get a sense of what everyone thinks is the best practice.
