For context, I’m watching a super cute pup this week. I messaged her owner today to confirm their pickup time this evening as listed in rover and to note I’ll be working from home so have some flexibility in pickup time earlier today as well. They replied surprised that pickup was this evening and want to know if they can pickup in the morning. Unfortunately, I booked a trip out of town with colleagues starting tonight after they were scheduled to pickup. I don’t want to cancel my trip as it’s rare I get to travel as a grad student but don’t know what options to provide the owner. I explained that I’m scheduled to be away tonight and that I’ll see if I can figure something out, but I don’t know what to offer. If they’re returning tonight, I considered offering to bring her home if there’s a spare key given we live in the same neighborhood, but otherwise I’m not sure how to help. I’d love for them to be repeat clients as their pup is great and they live nearby so want to accommodate them as best I can. Does anyone have suggestions or have you felt with anything similar in the past?
