Taking minocycline long term

Hi people, how are you?

I have type 2, so pustula and cie, my skin was doing GREAT on 100mg a day (2x 50mg) of minocycline. Then after 6 weeks, I was on 50mg a day (6 weeks again) and then it was done. When I was on 50mg, my skin wasn't perfect but it was "ok".

Since I've stopped the medication, it took only 2 days for the pustules to come back and now it's been about 6 weeks and it's as bad as it was before. I have metronidazole cream but it's absolutely useless, it does nothing.

I'm using all the right products, my skincare routine is tight, taking probiotics, fibers, water, I don't drink and take very small quantity of cafeine... I'm doing almost everything as it's prescribed, but the temperature here have been really cold and I think it triggered my rosacea.

My family doctor told me I could be on minocycline "forever" if I wanted, I don't trust him for various reasons, but I'm gonna take the pills again (100mg a day) until I get an appointement with my dermatologist. I plan on getting in a few months the vbeam treatment but right now I don't have the funds lol

Do you know people who were on minocycline for an extented period of time?
