You voiced your opinions, we listened. We have added u/5f636f636b5f, aka "_cock_" to the mod team.

"_cock_" and I started a discussion regarding a pretty hot topic that was discussed here about a month ago. We had differing opinions but we were always respectful, engaging in good-faith, and genuinely wanting to learn from the other. This is something we (the current mod team) value highest. So, it seemed only natural that we ask him to mod here.

Here's is what we agreed on and he will continue with:

• Rooster Rock is a State Park and it is open to everyone (men, women, transgendered, LGBTQ , and families).

• It WAS referred to as a "gay beach" and still has an area that is referred to and known as "the gay beach".

• It has always been open to everyone and will continue to be open to everyone.

• Everyone, especially the disenfranchised communities, need safe spaces where they can go and be with their own away from "outsiders", (read: the "gay area" needs to remain the "gay-only area").

And of course, we all agree with the existing rules.

Greetings All! This is totally new for me but I'll do what I can to make this a cozy place. It's still a small sub but who knows what will happen in the future!

So about me: Let's see, I'm an ex mormon who was in a straight marriage until things snapped. I left the church, left my wife (by arrangement), left my family (no kids) and with my boyfriend, the two of us landed in PDX! Literally! We married soon after and we've been together for just over 13 years. I was asked to mod here by /u/Mr_Secret_Name after some disagreements we had - which was honestly shocking but I have to give him some credit here. I'm in a monogamous relationship but love to say that we both are "ethically window shopping". We both have some weird hangups with our mormon past that we are working on. We love Rooster and spend about three or four days a week there in the summer. Love to all!
