Rain vs unfinished metal edge and chimney flashing
Post Body

Hey guys, I recently got an asphalt and gravel roof done, well it's still WIP. The crew did most of the roof except the metal edges and the flashing, as you can see in the pics. When they were leaving in the late afternoon, they told me another team is gonna come and finish the metal edges and flashing.

They said tomorrow and we are here today and my gut's telling me they won't make it before Monday. And it'll rain Sunday and for a good part of next week. So my question is, will the rain pose an issue for the WIP roof that's missing its metal edges and chimney flashing?

Also my dad is kinda worried about the chimney part that's circled red not being asphalted, and the felt on the edge flopping around a bit and not stuck to the roof, my understanding is that the former will be covered by the flashing which shouldn't matter and the latter should be encased in the metal edge, which shouldn't matter too, but I just want to make sure.

The metal edges are yet to be finished on all three sides.

The part that's not asphalted. Should go be covered by the flashing and therefore okay?

The felt that's flopping a bit.

This is between our place and the neighbor's.

There is a hole here. Maybe it's WIP?
