So long story short I'm 21 and basically wasted two years in college, I don't feel to bad about it because I'm from Belgium (land of the Smurfs, waffles, fries, chocolate...). Education is fairly cheap and I paid for it myself - nonetheless I have wasted two years so bummer.
Anyway I was thinking about a job in construction, more specifically roofing. I don't know if it's the same in the USA but here it's practically a bottleneck profession - in other words there's always work in this type of sector. That provides a certain kind of security, at least for me. Many companies offer an apprenticeship to learn you the skills of the trade and you get paid to do it, so basically a win-win situation.
My mind is already set in stone, but I'm just wondering what to expect of all of it? Especially as someone who has no technical background whatsoever. Are there things I should be aware of? What to expect on the first day?
Thanks in advance!
Cheers!
