I am so done with being shamed for having intense emotions.
Post Body

Y’all, I am over this trope in romance books. Why is every singe FMC always calm and collected in face of danger? And it’s always praised in the context of a “hysterical” character or just the MMC being “impressed” that she’d stay so calm unlike “most women”

Well guess what, I am autistic, I struggle with emotional regulation even on a good day. When I’m stressed, i have close to zero control over my own emotions. It’s a lucky day if I can even name my feelings. And I should not feel ashamed for it but I do.

If a calm and collected heroine is your piece of cake I get that but why shame other women?

I would really appreciate a book with an FMC I can relate to.
