JUST STOP. STOP RIGHT NOW AND READ IT IF YOU HAVENT. I truly did not know how much I CRAVE a mermaid love story... a forbidden love story. Daughter of a pirate king definitely held #1 for mermaid romance for me, but when I read this one, it easily knocked it off of #1..
βYou are a gift from the sea, Mira. A rare pearl I am so lucky to have found. I do love you, you know. More than anything else in this world. You hold my soul in your chest. Wherever you go, I will never be far from you.β
Whispers of the Deep by Emma Hamm left me shocked about how much I liked monster romances. I knew I liked mermaids, just never realized to what extent lol
What to expect; - Captive/Captor - Forced proximity - Slow burn - Mermaids - Language Barrier - Enemies to Lovers - Character Growth - Dual POV
Spice level πΆπΆ (First scene happens 80% into the book, then again at the end. Written in heavy detail)
I devoured this book. The two main characters are both clever & compelling. The slow burn itself is SLOOOOW and addicting. Although there are many plot holes, and ret cons, the descriptive writing makes up for it. I really did feel transported to the ocean world & found myself yearning to be apart of it.
Definitely would recommend to anyone who reads adult romance! πππππ
