SPOILERS of The war of Two Queens AHEAD, you have been warned!
Also, I know that many people may have different opinions than mine about TWOTQ (and that is ok and I fully respect it), but it is necessary to explain how I feel about the book so you can understand why I don't want to go back to it.
The truth is this, I tried reading TWOTQ about 3 times, but I always ended up giving up.
I loved the Blood and Ash series with all my heart, but the fourth book for me brought up points that were irreversible: if Casteel had done to Poppy what she did to him (cheating on him emotionally with Kieran while he was being tortured) all readers of this book would have dropped the series.
There are ways to construct polyamory. But acquiring these feelings while your HUSBAND is CAPTURED and being TORTURED is simply NOT COOL FOR ME.
JLA wanted to give a New Moon vibe and couldn't because it's completely different: Edward left Belle, she was destroyed and Jacob was with her at that moment. Casteel gave himself up to save Poppy's life, he was captured, tortured, all so that Poppy wouldn't suffer. And what she did instead? Starts flirting with his best friend.
I hadn't finished the book (I read a good amount tho) but it was too much for me, the feeling was terrible and I had promised never to read any book in the Blood and Ash saga again... until I discovered that A Soul of Ash and Blood, is the version of FBAA in Casteel's POV .
Well, the question is: can I read ASOAAB without reading TWOTQ, or do you have a VERY COMPLETE summary of TWOTQ to recommend?
